An Easy Winter So Far

Well we really cannot say that this has been too much of a winter for us. Sadly little snow to get out and play, toboggan or even practice with our snow shoes!! Addy keeps asking everyday the minute we have a little snow but most of the time by the time we get out there it is just a muddy mess in the back yard!!! Boo She has already been asking to go for bike rides which in reality we may just be doing soon!

So because it is so yucky we have been keeping inside and starting new renos. Addy talents for climbing out of her crib have continued, so we have come to the realization that she needs to move to a "big girl" bed. After all she cannot sleep in our bed forever, which seems to be the new test for nap and bedtime; "mommy I can sleep in your bed, please.........cause I will climb out"!! So I have been officially kicked out of my big craft room and we are transforming it into Addy's new little haven. Stayed tuned for the upcoming pics. I think she is going to love it.

On the 19th of January, Addy attended her first day at "school"  (PELP Daycare Program). She seems to be enjoying it, but takes some getting used to compared to her wonderful home daycare she attends. I think she finds it a little tough to deal with an increased number of kids and all the noise. On a few occasions I have attended to get her and she is playing quietly in the corner by herself. I think if the situation gets to overwhelming for her, she takes a step back and gives herself some quiet time alone to process it all. Nothing wrong with that, whatever she needs to do to make the situation good for her. Glad that we have started the process now for her.

Addy also met with her physiotherapist; Karen whom she has not seen in a year and amazed her with all that she can do. She had a great time running all over Pathways thinking it was a great big gym, but little did she know she was being tested at every game she did. Our little monkey can successfully jump, climb up stairs, and hold her balance. A few things to work on but all in all another great report card.

To keep her busy these days we have attempted swimming lessons again. This time we signed up in time and got her private lessons. She was really uneasy at her first lesson and their were tears, but after two weeks she is back in love with swimming again. She loves her  "girl teacher" as she calls her "cause mommy I don't know her name". The Olympics are not in her future at this point but she has jumped off the side!!!

This past week we had another scare. Little munchie (as Tante Moe calls her) had a bad bout of a cold and cough. We thought it was just another cruddy cold that was going around, but by Thursday night she was not herself and told me she was having trouble breathing. So into the Emergency we went along with the rest of the city of Sarnia. About 90% of the people in there we were with their little ones around the age of 3 or under. So we thought okay we will get the talk and be told to go home. Unfortunately not so. An xray later Addy had a mild dose of pneumonia and was admitted in for an overnight stay because of dehydration. Ugggh. She was such a trooper, 5 attempts on an IV and finally one in by 11:30 at night and up to the Children's ward we went. She was discharged the next day, with mild pneumonia, bad ear infection and a viral cough!!! It has been a long weekend but we are on the mend!!!

In fact I hear her calling now; " Mommy where you
are???" I love it sentencing forming still coming but words that are music to my ears.
